Polyonics Offers High-Temperature Tags and Labels for Extreme Track and Trace Applications in Metals Processing Factories
The Polyonics® family of polyimide and aluminum high temperature tag and label materials provides a wide variety of robust ID and tracking solutions for hot metal manufacturers.
Westmoreland, NH, April, 2020 – The Polyonics® family of polyimide and aluminum high temperature tag and label materials provides a wide variety of robust ID and tracking solutions for hot metal manufacturers. The durable, thermal transfer printable bar code tag and label materials allow manufacturers to accurately control their inventories from when the materials leave the furnace through to delivery to their customers.
Metal manufacturers can either apply the Polyonics labels directly to or hang the tags from their coils, rolls, bars, sheets, rebar, tubes, wire bundles, etc., as they leave the furnace. The thermal transfer printable surfaces offer high durability and abrasion resistance for long term retention of critical bar code information. The surfaces also resist fading and/or discoloring and will not degrade during long-term exposures to elevated temperatures and weather. This further enhances barcode readability and helps assure accurate inventory management and deliveries.
The barcode tags are available in a 5-mil white polyimide and a 9-mil white paper laminate with high tear resistance. They offer single and double-sided print surfaces, varying levels of gloss and operational temperatures of 212 °F to 752 °F (100 °C to 400 °C). The label materials include a 2-mil polyimide film and aluminum foils combined with 1- or 2-mil aggressive pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs) and have operational temperatures of 392 °F to 932 °F (200 °C to 500 °C).
