Metal Processing Factories and Foundries Need Durable Tag and Label Materials
The metals processing industry requires barcodes be added to their sheets, flat and round bars, rolls and coils at temperatures of 400+°C. The barcodes are used to identify and accurately track the materials from furnace through delivery to customers. Finding a durable barcode label or tag that will survive these harsh processes, stay affixed to the material and be readable throughout the process presents a major challenge. Polyonics has developed materials for inventory tracking in metal processing factories and tracking hot metals in foundries.
Metal Processing Factories
This allows metal manufacturers the flexibility to either apply the labels directly to or hang the tags from their coils, rolls, bars, sheets, rebar, tubes, wire bundles, etc. directly as they leave their furnaces. The durability of the thermal transfer printed materials allows manufacturers to accurately control their inventories from when the materials leave the furnace through to delivery their customers.
The Polyonics thermal transfer printed polyimide and aluminum bar code label materials are designed to withstand the high temperatures and harsh environments typical of metal processing. They include unique, non-yellowing polymer or silicone print surfaces along with aggressive, high temp acrylic or ultra-high temperature silicone pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA).
Foundry Metal Tracking
The Polyonics high temperature bar code tag materials are excellent alternatives to riveted plates, chalk or crayons for tracking hot metals in foundries. The hang tags also provide high tear resistances so will resist unintended removal during storage or delivery to further ensure inventory accountability.
