Performance Label Materials

Metal Processing Tags and Labels

Polyonics offers polyimide and aluminum bar code tag and label materials for inventory tracking in metal processing factories. This allows metal manufacturers the flexibility to either apply the labels directly to or hang the tags from their coils, rolls, bars, sheets, rebar, tubes, wire bundles, etc. directly as they leave their furnaces. The durability of the thermal transfer printed materials allows manufacturers to accurately control their inventories from when the materials leave the furnace through to delivery their customers.

Polyimide and Aluminum Label Materials

The Polyonics thermal transfer printed polyimide and aluminum bar code label materials are designed to withstand the high temperatures and harsh environments typical of metal processing. They include unique, non-yellowing polymer or silicone print surfaces along with aggressive, high temp acrylic or ultra-high temperature silicone pressure sensitive adhesives (PSA).

  • 1mil (25 µm)  and 2 mil (50 µm) aluminum labels
  • White matte and gloss thermal transfer print surfaces
  • Acrylic and silicone PSA
  • Continuous operation 300°C and 400°C

Hot Metal Polyimide, Paper and Aluminum Tag Materials

The Polyonics high temperature bar code tag materials are excellent alternatives to riveted plates, chalk or crayons for tracking hot metals in foundries. Double coated white or yellow Polyimide 5 mil tags along with a 9 mil aluminum composite tag are available for long exposures of up to 450°C and short exposures up to 600°C. The hang tags also provide high tear resistances so will resist unintended removal during storage or delivery to further ensure inventory accountability.

  • Polyimide 5 mil (127 µm) hang tags
  • White or yellow thermal transfer print surfaces
  • One side high gloss, one side matte
  • High temperature resistance up to 600°C

Polyonics Exhibits New Materials for Barcode Tags and Labels at AISTech

Polyonics will exhibit its newly expanded line of high temperature materials for use in barcode tags and labels at AISTech 2016 booth 2322. New tag materials have been added that provide metal processors with an expanded temperature range, lower prices and most importantly, increased durability to insure barcode survival through the harshest metal processing conditions.

Polyonics Introduces New Low Cost High Temperature Barcode Tracking Tags

The new Polyonics high temperature XF-608 barcode tracking tags offer double-sided thermal transfer printing, ultra-high tear resistance and minimal curl at a fraction of the price of other tag materials on the market.

Polyonics Introduces Application Guides for Steel Mill Barcode Tracking

The metal processing industry requires accurate barcodes be attached to their products at temperatures of 400+C to help assure accurate inventories. Finding durable barcode tags and labels that will survive these environments is difficult. Polyonics introduces a series of application guides that help define the problems and provide solutions.

Polyonics Introduces Barcode Tag and Label Materials for Metal Processing

Polyonics has introduced a new family of barcode tag and label materials designed to withstand the ultra-high temperatures and harsh environments found in hot metals processing. The materials provide durable, long term product ID and tracking to ensure accurate inventory control.
